ABODE OF PEACE LABYRINTH GEORGETOWN, CALIFORNIA DESIGN and INSTALLATION by DAVID BLONSKI View from a 60 ft boom lift photo taken 10/3/09 124 foot diameter Chartres labyrinth built using over 150 tons of serpentine rocks and boulders from a local quarry. Building project started Feb 14, 2008 Rockwork completed April 14, 2008 Landscaping - ongoing - current face lift includes a new path being laid in decomposed granite that should be completed by the end of October 2009... just in time to make the path safe in the coming winter rains. click on photos to see larger image!

The Abode of Peace Labyrinth & Retreat Center and "The Yoga Place" are located on Wentworth Springs Road just one mile east of the town of Georgetown, California. Georgetown is located in the Sierra Foothills of California and is one hour east of Sacramento. Click here for map.

ABOUT THE ABODE OF PEACE LABYRINTH

• This labyrinth is on private property but is open to the public year round.
• The length of the path from the entrance to the center is 2400 feet (nearly a half mile).
• Depending on the speed of your walk it can take 15 - 20 minutes to walk to the center.
• The path is on a slight slope but has a well maintained decomposed granite path to make walking easy.
• The turf center is 30 feet in diameter with 6 meditation benches and is ideal for doing Yoga or Tai Chi. The turf center can accomodate a gathering of 50 people or more.
• David Blonski lives locally and is available to facilitate walks or play music for walks. Call... 530-333-1335
